- The Rekids boss's new LP will be accompanied by gallery events and a short film.
Rekids boss Matt Edwards, better known as Radio Slave, will release an album this November under one of his lesser-known monikers, The Machine.
Entitled RedHead, the new album comes weeks after Edwards' unveiled a new Rekids toy, and shows him continuing to expand his artistic repertoire, this time dabbling in sound collage. "The idea of recycling and creating collages has been something that I've been doing since art school from working with a photocopy machine and a scalpel blade," says Edwards. "The music itself is a departure from what people might expect from me, but I've always wanted to make an electronic LP that captures a sense of travel. It feels like a natural progression."
Though the album will see release on Rekids, Edwards' multi-media imprint Pyramids of Mars will play a role as well. The record will be accompanied by a short film by the Japanese collective Jigoku, and each track will have a corresponding image designed by Australian pop artist Misha Holenbach of Perks And Mini.
