- The Chicago-based producer will release his debut album for Soma later this Autumn.
Soma Records have revealed details of Decimal's forthcoming album debut, due out in early November.
Titled Lost In a Dark Place, the ten-track longplayer by the young Illinois producer, real name David Spacek, follows a year-long production break from solo work as Decimal. In the intervening months Spacek has busied himself with his debut as Aberrant for Radio Slave's REK'D imprint, and further production work for Enemy Records and Mihalis Safras's Material Series.
Recent single and Slam favourite "Forgotten Requiem" features on Lost In a Dark Place, as does "Soulchamber," which joins it at the uplifting end of the tech house spectrum. Classicist Detroit fare gets an outlet via "Simulation" and "A Physical Sense of Time," while Decimal's talent for unnerving melodic tripiness that gradually unravels over sleek techno is showcased with tracks like "Tightly Wound" and "Ghost." Also featured is "Melody Attack", touted in the press writeup as "the biggest track on the album," and the pick as the next Decimal 12-inch release, which will be packaged together with a remix by Sandwell District.
