- The Scottish label, which turns 20 this year, will release their next down tempo compilation in May.
Soma Records have unveiled details for Soma Coma 5, the next installment in their ambient and downbeat compilation series.
Since 2007, the Glaswegian imprint has used the Soma Coma collections as a channel for their more abstract, atmospheric productions. Much like past installments, Some Coma 5 highlights tracks from most of the label's usual suspects–namely Slam, The Black Dog, Alex Smoke and Silicone Soul among others–all of which are, as the label puts it, "specifically for introspective moments." The collection will be available on CD late next month.
In other Soma related news, the label is turning 20 this year, and to mark the occasion they're releasing remixes of some of their catalog's biggest tracks, beginning with a series of singles and culminating in a box set this fall. Artists involved include Radio Slave, Claude VonStroke, Andrew Weatherall, DJ Sneak, Christian Smith and Loco Dice among others. Some exclusive tracks and DJ mixes are thrown in there as well. More details on that are still forthcoming.
