- The Islington Council's decision to revoke the club's license has been met with dismay.
Islington Council's decision to revoke the license of fabric has drawn an angry response from DJs and musicians.
The council's licensing subcommittee handed down its decision in the early hours of this morning, with chairperson Flora Williamson saying: "A culture of drugs exists at the club which the existing management and security appear incapable of controlling."
The online response from the dance music community has been one of anger and frustration, with many disputing whether safety was the key reason behind the decision.
This evening, Goldie told Channel 4 "I’m wondering whether or not the likes of me, the likes of Jazzie B, Norman Jay, Pete Tong for that matter, should just trade our MBE’s in, melt them down and put them in a pencil-pushers coffee, so it can taste a little bit sweeter for him today, so he feels more successful in killing counter culture and culture itself."
