The Knife are a brother/sister electro-pop combo known for their reclusiveness, their way with a melody and for dressing up as crows. They're also getting a reputation for up-to-the-minute taste in remixers.
‘Marble House’, the first single off their acclaimed LP ‘Silent Shout’, was remixed by Shinedoe, Williams and Troy Pierce, while Rex the Dog and Booka Shade had their way with second offering ‘Silent Shout’. Stepping up to the plate for ‘We Share Our Mother’s Health’ are remixers du jour Trentemøller and Radio Slave.
Trentemøller was voted 2005 Producer of the Year at the Danish DJ Awards and he's known for his maximal approach to electro-minimal with a string of successful productions on Audiomatique, Out of Orbit and Poker Flat. He also moonlights as a remixer, his touch instantly identifiable on Sharon Philips ‘Want 2 Need 2’ and Royksopp’s ‘What Else is There?’
Radio Slave used to be the partnership of Matt Edwards and Serge Santiago, but now Edwards is going it alone and he’s on a roll with his remix of Chelonis R. Jones’ ‘Deer in the Headlights’ has been finding favor with everyone from Pete Tong to Michael Mayer.
The video for ‘We Share Our Mother’s Health’ was directed by the Japanese artist Motomichi Nakamura. Check it out.
