Twenty years after the release of the original electro anthem, Yello’s 1985 classic ‘Oh Yeah’ gets electro and trance rerubs by Booka Shade, Bodzin & Huntemann and Sander Van Doorn on a new pair of twelves.
Yello are the Swiss duo Dieter Meier and Boris Blank. Most known for their breakout hit ‘Oh Yeah’, the pair have recorded over a dozen albums, recently moving into soundtrack work.
The original ‘Oh Yeah’ has appeared in American movies ‘Ferris Bueller's Day Off’ and ‘The Secret of My Success’ and is used on The Simpsons as the theme for the Duffman character. It also can often be heard on the soundtrack to American Football on US TV and even features in the game ‘Gran Turismo 4’.
The extended house mix by Ralphi Rosario recently camped eight weeks in the American Billboard Club Charts, while the Booka Shade, Bodzin & Huntemann and Sander Van Doorn mixes have been spotted in the sets of the likes Tom Novy, Tiga, Moguai, Tomcraft, Martin Landsky and John Digweed.
All mixes of ‘Oh Yeah ‘Oh Six’ feature the original voice of Dieter Meyer, naturally.
