  • Latest LP from Californian production machine John Tejada promises to marry clubbing and home listening. ‘Cleaning Sounds is a Filthy Business’ will be released early November. If you listen house or techno music, chance are you’ve listened to John Tejada. One of the most prolific and respected producers in dance music, his production and remixes are everywhere these days, picked up by the likes of Steve Bug, Dominik Eulberg, Josh Wink and Daniel Bell. Born in Vienna, Tejada is one of those lucky folk born into a family of musicians. He learnt the piano by the age of four, he’s no slouch at the drums and as anyone who’s witnessed his DJ sets can attest, he knows how to rock a party. Tejada is a prolific remixer, rejigging Lawrence, Christopher Just and even the indie pop likes of The Postal Service. But it’s as a producer that Tejada is most well known: the triumverate of ‘Mono on Mono’, ‘Sweat (On the Walls)’ and ‘Paranoia’ defined tech house in 2004, and more recently he’s been on an exploratory tip with the ‘Big City Music’ and ‘The End of It All’ singles, the latter of which finds its way onto his new album. 'Cleaning Sounds is a Filthy Business' promises to marry dance rhythms with sonics that can be appreciated at home. “I still feel very nostalgic about dance music which could also be listened to at home,” says Tejada. “The new album is a big combination of these nostalgic ideas while also pushing forward into new ideas. The album follows a theme I can’t properly put into words, but it’s capturing a feeling of a time when I was very excited about dance music.” ’Cleaning Sounds is a Filthy Business’ Tracklist 01.
