- Please send your RSVP to [email protected] for location and other info. 25 years is an age in dance music, and with San Francisco’s legendary Wicked crew now reaching that anniversary, BlkMarket Membership, Listed Productions, Tom Mello and SOUP NYC join forces to celebrate their legacy. Originally hailing from UK before heading West, the then-quartet of DJ Garth, Jeno, Markie Mark, and Thomas Bullock met in England before joining landing in San Francisco, a city already ripe for their variety of mischeif after decades as a counterculture center, one of the capitals of the Hi-NRG movement, and one of the few US cities to maintain its own club culture after the death of disco. Coming off of the rude intrusion of acid house into the UK, the quartet took the no-rules attitude learned from the early raves in England and applied it to their own vision of house music, one bathed in Chicago acid and the disco and psychedelic sounds that had called San Francisco home for years. Bullock departed for New York in 1996 to make his own mark, but the core trio continued as Wicked for 13 years from 1991, their Full Moon parties kickstarting the West Coast Rave scene and DJ Garth’s Greyhound Recordings documenting their accomplishments in full psychotropic intensity from 1998 onwards. Jeno and Garth went continued touring together as Back2Back and separately following Wicked’s dissolution in 2004; Garth in particular maintained a prolific release schedule of of edits and original productions into 2011. It’s been many years since the trio appeared in New York together, so we invite you for a very special occasion as three founders of an essential era in San Francisco’s dance music join forces with some of New York & San Francisco's leading underground promoters for a very rare reunion.
