We've spoken at length about the quality of the duo's music here at RA. And we're not alone. Skudge recently were awarded dance act of the year at Sweden's P3 Guld Awards, an award previously won by Fever Ray. (The one where she gave that "acceptance speech.") Skudge were less flamboyant at the ceremony, we're told. And they came across that way in our recent interview in advance of the release of their debut album, Phantom.
Problem is, our phone connection wasn't the best. It doesn't happen often. And we'll regularly just do the interview over. But instead of talking to the taciturn Stockholm residents again about their love of early '90s techno or their involvement with the key local underground techno party, The Office, we decided to have a little bit of fun with it. So with the greatest apologies to The New York Times' Andrew Kuo, we decided to present Skudge in a slightly different way than usual.
