  • The Presets have taken home the honour of Australia's album of the year at the J Awards with their Apocalypto LP. The J Award is for an album of outstanding achievement as an Australian musical work of art, and is judged by a panel at Triple J, Australia's nation-wide youth network. The award sees the band join acts like Wolfmother, Blue King Brown and The Panics on the list of previous winners. The electronic popsters can add the gong to the five that they received at this year's ARIA awards (including best album and best dance act), as well as their accolade for the year's best album at the Sydney Music Art and Culture awards. In live news, the band will play shows at the Nevereverland festival (which takes in Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney), before finishing off their year at Shore Thing on Bondi Beach with Eric Prydz and Underworld.
