- The French composer will have his debut record re-released by Type in February.
Composer Sylvain Chauveau has made his name with piano miniatures that utilize electronics to heighten their mood, but few have heard the record that started it all, Le Livre Noir Du Capitalisme. Type is setting out to change that next month, when they will release a remastered version of Chauveau's debut.
The record, which will take the English translation of the title (The Black Book Of Capitalism), apparently references "electronica, jazz, and even indie rock," but we're told that the piano—as you might expect—leads the way. As the whole thing has been remastered by Dubplates and Mastering and it's available on vinyl for the first time, we're guessing there is no better time to get acquainted with this earliest of works from the Frenchman.
