  • Techno will once again take over Ghent later next month and on into March, as Resonance have announced the first acts that will play their 2009 event, including a rare live performance from Detroit dub-techno merchants Echospace. The festival takes place over the last weekend of February in the Belgian city, and has a line-up that should have techno heads around the world salivating in anticipation. Machinefabriek, Eavesdropper and Raster-Noton's Alva Noto kick things off on the Friday with their experimental electronic offerings, whilst Saturday's event caters more to the dance floor. Move D and Benjamin Brunn will showcase tunes from Songs From The Beehive, whilst Modern Love cohorts Claro Intelecto and Andy Stott will also collaborate with a special live performance. The night is rounded off with a set from Time To Express owner Peter Van Hoesen, who will no doubt take things up a notch with his Berghain-compatible minimalism. After all that dancing on Saturday, the final day of the festival again takes a downbeat turn, with live sets from Mokira (who will be reproducing his new Persona album) and Echospace, who'll be bringing their dubwise textures to Belgium for the first time. More acts are yet to be announced, and they'll be revealed over the next month on the official Resonance site.
