  • While many imprints are currently feeling the effects of the credit crunch, Cocoon Recordings is set to kick off a new series of releases composed solely of 10-inch records. The sublabel is reportedly dedicated to "presenting young and promising talents within the electronic dance music scene to a wider public," something that label boss Sven Väth has specialized in over the years, bringing names like Raudive, Tolga Fidan and Efdemin to audiences that would rarely have occasion to check them out. For the first batch of quick and dirty tunes Väth has Leftroom head Matt Tolfrey in collaboration with Inxec on one side of the vinyl, and Mixmag scribe Gavin Herlihy on the flip. And while there have been no announcements about future releases in the series, we're sure that there will be plenty more like them throughout the year.
