Jennifer Cardini, Pan/Tone, Popnoname and Sid LeRock will visit Oz for the June Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend.
Jennifer Cardini, Pan/Tone (Sid LeRock) and Popnoname, three of Europe's underground techno heavies, will be dropping into Australia for three dates next month. Each performing artist sports heavy ties to Kompakt, so the tour will provide Australian fans with a rare chance to catch multiple artists showcasing the sounds of the techno powerhouse.
Jennifer Cardini, often touted as France's first lady of minimal techno, has been one of the genre's main stayers since the late '90s, having completed residencies at, among others, The Rex Club (France) and Nitsa (Barcelona). Sheldon Thompson—AKA Pan/Tone and Sid LeRock (both appearing)—is the self-described creator of "rockno," a blend of rock and techno. His extensive discography has led to large-scale international touring, with several appearances on the UK and US festival circuits, while fellow German resident Popnoname first grabbed major acclaim in 2007 with the release of his debut LP White Album.
