- Ralph Lawson, Dubble D and Silver City are set to release their second album together later this year.
2020 Soundsystem will release their sophomore full-length next month, entitled Falling.
Live sets in the world of electronic music can all too often mean someone staring at a laptop for an hour, but Ralph Lawson was keen to get around this crutch when forming his own live house and techno group. After recruiting fellow 2020 artists Dubble D and Silver City to aid him on his journey, the quartet started jamming out tracks for a bunch of singles, culminating in their debut album No Order.
Previously, the band had been drafting in guest vocalists for all of their vocal tracks, and originally the group planned to do the same for Falling. However, after recording that particular version of the album, the 2020 lads decided to scrap the entire project and work from scratch, getting bassist Fernando Pulichino to step into the role of singer/songwriter for most of the record. Even though Falling has more of a focus on actual songs and vocals, the album is still very much a dance record, with club-friendly tech-house cuts like "Bisco" and "Psycho" fitting alongside dubbier cuts such as "Dark Matter" and "Broken."
