Richie Hawtin and his crew are set to perform a special instore show in addition to their label showcase at The Powerzone.
Before all that goes on, the sober business of panel discussions needs to be undertaken, with Hawtin flying solo for an hour at Felix Meritis (Keizersgracht 324) to wax lyrical about the state of the current global dance music scene. The discussion will run from 3 OM onwards, but those more interested in catching the Minus head honcho in action may already be camped outside the Gsus clothing store, which will host performances from Hawtin as well as Magda and Ambivalent. The preview showing of the Making Contakt DVD will follow on from that at 7 PM at the Melkweg venue, with a Q&A session from both Hawtin and Minus' visual artist Ali Demirel, and a well deserved rest is pencilled in before things kick off at The Powerzone later on.
Barem, Hobo, JPLS and Fabrizio Maurizi will all join Hawtin, Magda and Ambivalent at the party for a monster eight-hour session, and although the cube will be left at home for the bash, Demirel will be on hand to provide some of the visuals that have made the Contakt tour such a spectacle over the past sixteen months.
