  • Moodymann will embark on a European tour later this month. Extended stays on the continent are a rare thing for Kenny Dixon, but the celebrated house music producer will eschew his usual traditions when he arrives in Italy for a series of European dates. Fans attending his first show in the Italian city of Mantua on Friday 15th January won't even have to pay an entry fee, as the 500-capacity Moxa club is currently has a free entry policy for all of its parties. Residents of Northern Italy will get a second chance to see the man in action on the following Friday at The Beach in Torino, while January 29th will see him descend on Dublin's Crawdaddy venue for his first appearance in the city since the tail end of '07. Dixon Jr. will be going it alone for most of the tour, but the final two nights will see him accompanied by some of the hottest tickets of the past twelve months. Motor City Drum Ensemble will finally get to meet one of his primary musical inspirations at the Paris show, but arguably the most intriguing of his performances will take place at Berlin's Berghain on Friday February 5th. Instead of playing in the more house-oriented environment of Panorama Bar, KDJ will bring his diverse spinning style to the cavernous downstairs floor, with dubstep, garage and wonky Detroit-inspired house flavours being provided by Actress and the ubiquitously tipped Joy Orbison. Lovers of techno shouldn't despair, however, as Perlon will be taking over the upstairs for one of their Get Perlonized showcases, with label co-founder Zip set between two performances from Sammy Dee; both solo and alongside Bruno Pronsato as Half Hawaii.
