- The DFA rockers will release their debut album next month.
Free Energy, a critically-acclaimed pop-rock group from Philadelphia, will release their debut album on DFA/Astralwerks next month.
Entitled Stuck On Nothing, the record was produced by James Murphy, the disco-rock mastermind behind DFA Records and LCD Soundsystem. It will be Free Energy's third release to date—since last Spring, they've released two EPs, Free Energy and Dark Trance, both of which garnered praise from Pitchfork, Spin and Nylon. As their name suggests, Free Energy make sunny, upbeat party anthems, complete with bongos, vocal harmonies, and even a little cowbell.
