Booka Shade, Modeselektor, A-Trak, The XX and many more will also play the German festival this summer.
As in previous years, Melt! will take place at Ferropolis, an open-air museum strewn with massive pieces of 20th century industrial machinery. Seminal trip-hop group Massive Attack will headline, along with Ricardo Villalobos, Booka Shade and Carl Craig featuring Mike Banks of Underground Resistance. House and techno get the lion's share of the billing, but other styles of electronic beats will be represented as well, with DJ Shadow, Fake Blood, Sinden and The Very Best playing over the course of the weekend. Melt! has also booked an audio-visual performance by Chris Cunningham, director of classic music videos like Aphex Twin's "Windowlicker" and Björk's "All is Full of Love."
Part of Melt!'s programming revolves around stages curated by musicians. German duo Modeselektor will have their own stage, with performances by Four Tet, Jackmaster, Martyn and Kode9, plus a debut dubstep performance by Jamie XX, of acclaimed British indie band The XX (also performing at the festival). Ostgut Ton will have an entire stage to themselves as well, featuring the majority of Berghain and Panorama Bar's resident DJs.
