The Detroit native will headline the party's launch next month.
Detroit techno pioneer Derrick May is Australia-bound, touching down for the launch of Melbourne party Alchemy in late-April.
May, whose name belongs next to the likes of fellow first-wave Detroit luminaries Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, is regarded as one of the first Motor City producers to create a significant link between the city's emerging techno soundscape and the sounds of Chicago house. Throughout his 25-year touring career May has visited Australia a number of times, often for surprise low-key sets. This time around, however, he'll be housed in the large-scale Prince Bandroom.
DJ support on the night will be provided by upcoming UK house producer Groove Assassin and Melbourne veteran Christian Vance.
