- The Underground Quality chief will release his sophomore LP this spring.
Jus-Ed is gearing up to put out his second album offering, Next Level, through his own Underground Quality imprint.
Chances are you'd never heard of Jus-Ed and his Underground Quality label the last time he endeavored to proffer a full-length back in 2005. Carnival House preceded a steady run of 12-inches that would propel Ed and label mates DJ Qu, AntonZap and Nina Kraviz (and by extension Levon Vincent and Fred P) out to an appreciative global audience.
Next Level brings together ten previously unreleased tracks, and as you might have expected from a man who very much does things in his own lovable fashion, Ed pretty much makes no stylistic concessions on the album, instead continuing on his path of classic-leaning deeper house. There are a couple of exceptions, however: First track "I'm Coming" sees Ed take to the mic for a vocal turn, while "Matrix" is a kind of stripped down instrumental hip-hop jam.
