Their digital music management software is available as a free download as of today.
"Our goal is to make Rekordbox the standard music management software in the DJ community as iTunes is to music fans," says David Arevalo, senior marketing manager of Pioneer's DJ division. For those who missed the Rekordbox noise that emanated from the launch of Pioneer's new CDJ-900/CDJ-2000 decks, the program is designed, at its most basic level, to organise a DJ's music library. Additional analytical features such as BPM counter, waveform data, and custom functions like tag info, hot cues, cue points, and loops are what Pioneer are hoping will convince DJs to adopt the software—if, of course, they own these new CDJ models or are at least planning to play out on them.
