- The seven-piece ensemble will release their debut album this July.
Jena-based collective Feindrehstar will release their debut album, Vulgarian Knights, this summer on Musik Krause.
Consisting of seven live instrumentalists, Feindrehstar blends elements of house, techno, hip-hop, jazz and broken beat—a concoction the band terms as "krautclub." The group have been together for about ten years, and have so far released four records on their own label, Human Instinct, plus an EP on Sonar Kollektiv. For Vulgarian Knights, they enlisted the help of Michael Baumann, better known as Soulphiction or Jackmate, who lent his expertise in rhythm construction. The album was recorded mostly at Jazzanova's studio Berlin.
