- The industrial techno artist's next record will be Electric Deluxe's first full-length.
This fall, French techno artist Terence Fixmer will release his next album via Speedy J's Electric Deluxe label.
Entitled Comedy of Menace, the album refers to the English playwright Harold Pinter, who tried not only to amuse but also to intimidate and frighten his audience–an idea that clearly appeals to Fixmer based on the sound of his output to date. Since the late '90s, he has has pushed a dark, thudding brand of techno that takes inspiration from EBM outfits like Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb, releasing on imprints like Music Man, International Deejay Gigolos, and Data Punk. Comedy of Menace shows Fixmer staying true to form with ten monolithic, industrial-tinged club tunes. The record will be the first artist album for Speedy J's Electric Deluxe imprint.
