- The UK rapper gets the remix treatment on his next full-length.
London-based rapper Roots Manuva has unveiled details for his next full-length, due for release this September.
Entitled Duppy Writer, the new LP features reworks of Manuva tracks by a producer known as Wrong Tom. Manuva first met Wrong Tom just before the release of his 2008 album Slime & Reason, and asked him to produce a dub version of his single "Buff Nuff." Manuva was so pleased with the result that he eventually commissioned Wrong Tom to rework selections from a variety of his previous albums. Duppy Writer collects these new versions, offering new, dubbed out takes on classic Manuva tracks, all of which appear with slightly different titles (e.g. "Motion 5000" becomes "Motion 82"). As with most of Manuva's records, the album will see release on Big Dada.
