- A collection of Richie Hawtin's productions from 1993 to 2004 is due in stores this summer.
Berlin-based minimal techno imprint Minus is set to release Kompilation, a retrospective of Richie Hawtin's productions as Plastikman.
From from the early '90s to the middle of the last decade, Richie Hawtin used his Plastikman alias to produce dozens of steely, atmospheric tracks that became essential to minimal and techno music. Kompilation collects songs from all stages of this decade-long run, beginning with 1993's "Plasticine" and ending with 2004's "Ask Yourself." The release coincides with Hawtin's recent revival of the Plastikman guise, which resulted in a string of visually enhanced live shows over this summer, mostly at festivals like Movement in Detroit and Time Warp in Germany. Kompilation was previously available at Minus's "Ghost Shop" in Barcelona during this year's Sonar festival, but will not see wide release until August 13th.
