  • Joy Orbison's Doldrums party will return to Plan B next month with a guest appearance from Detroit native Marcellus Pittman. Pittmann is probably best known as a former member of 3 Chairs, the dream-team production outfit that also counted Theo Parrish, Rick Wilhite and Kenny Dixon Jr. as its members. In the past few years he's beefed up his solo catalog with releases on Fit, Unirhythm and FXHE. Much like his Motor City cohorts, he specializes in stripped down analog house, though his solo records tend to sound especially metallic and rough-edged. This makes him a good fit for Doldrums, a party whose first edition hosted Omar-S and German artist Kassem Mosse. The rest of the bill be a much more bass-heavy affair. Rinse.fm resident Braiden will man the decks in celebration of Alps, his upcoming debut 12-inch on the Doldrums label. He'll be joined by Will Bankhead, jungle dweller Nookie and up-and-comer Kristal Klear. Naturally, Doldrums man Joy Orbison will jump in for a set as well. Tickets to Doldrums featuring Marcellus Pittman can be had right here on RA Tickets.
