London, Birmingham and Manchester are among the cities hosting dual remix workshops and club nights; MJ Cole, SMD and L-Vis 1990 are among the talent.
Rizla have launched a Mystery Jets remix competition under the Rizla Re-crafted banner, and will tour the UK in support of the project.
Rizla have been involved in the parties game for a couple of years now, but have hitherto operated in a more traditional club events vein. The Re-crafted concept is anchored by a remix competition that will make available parts of a Mystery Jets track, "Show Me The Light." The winners will receive a Hercules DJ Console in addition to a feature on Data Transmission. Further details can be found at the link below.
The tour will begin this Friday, November 12th, in Birmingham with an afternoon remix workshop hosted by MJ Cole (a duty he'll be called on for all such sessions during the tour) at the city's Hare and Hounds venue. The action will then shift to the popular Rainbow Warehouse later that day and take in DJ sets from Simian Mobile Disco, Friendly Fires, Mystery Jets and Cole. Bristol will be the city in focus the following weekend. Cole's workshop will take place at Cube Microplex, while the night time event goes down at Motion Skate Park, with Bloc Party's Kele Okereke, Fake Blood, L-Vis 1990, Cole and Julio Bashmore supplying the sounds across two rooms.
Friday, November 26th will be Manchester's turn in the spotlight: the workshop will be staged out of Deaf Institute, while the party featuring Drop The Lime, Cole, Oneman, Mumdance, Mowgli, Mystery Jets and Hot City takes place at Sankeys. And Sheffield will be Rizla's final stop on Saturday, December 4th. The Harley hosts the remix class, and The Plug will welcome 2 Bears (Joe Hot Chip and Raf Daddy), Jamie XX, Cole, Mystery Jets DJs and Cubic Zirconia for the nocturnal maneuvers.
Tickets for the Bristol leg of the tour at Motion Skate Park can now be purchased via RA Tickets.
