  • London-based artist Kevin Griffiths has laid out plans for a new sub-label, Tsuba Limited, with the first record due out early next month. Griffiths' personal catalog includes a slew of EPs and a DJ mix, but his most significant output has been as a label manager. Since 2006 he's run Tsuba Records, a house and tech house imprint that's put out 12-inches by Steve Lawler, Peace Division, Sascha Dive and many others. Last year he followed this up with a second label, Tsuba Colours. Tsuba Limited will be his third yet, and aims to celebrate the 12-inch format: each release will be vinyl-only, hand-stamped and limited to 350 copies. "I wanted to do something purely underground, and these days vinyl is definitely that, and also to give something exclusively to DJs who still support the format," Griffiths said. "Vinyl is still an inherently important part of club culture and I really don't want to see it die." The first 12-inch on Tsuba Limited is called The Luchador and comes from Rio Padice, a Naples-based producer who sometimes works with Massi DL under the name Horacio. That will be followed by an EP from Canadian producer Tazz, who made his debut this year with two 12-inches on Underground Quality. Tracklist A1 Code No 3 A2 Back To The Basics B1 Chillesque B2 Mission To Mars Tsuba Limited will release The Luchador on December 8th, 2010.
