  • Seasoned vinyl selector David Rodigan will headline Tayo's Tracksuit Party at The Book Club later this month. Sponsored by Tiger beer, the event takes inspiration from the New York block parties of the 1980s, as seen in films like Spike Lee's She's Got To Have It (which will in fact be screened at the bar upstairs). Recommended dress code is "'80s b-boys, disco divas" or anything made of Lycra or Spandex. In case that doesn't do the '80s theme justice, there will also be pinatas scattered around the venue (shaped like trainers, ghetto blasters and pairs of decks), some of which contain toys or all-night drink tickets. Tiger beer will reportedly be given away for free as well. Meanwhile, Rodigan will man the decks to provide the evening's soundtrack. Though reggae, dancehall and dub are his usual specialies, the longtime collector surely has enough vinyl in his crate to follow the night's theme. He'll be joined by fellow Fabriclive alum Tayo (AKA Donald Krump), disco maven Sophie Lloyd and Wild Geese, AKA Frank Tope and Dan Foat.
