  • London dubstep producer Plastician, known to his familiars as Chris Reed, will make his Sydney debut next weekend at Club 77. Reed has been spinning dubstep in South London clubs since the genre's emergence in the early '00s. Like many of his English contemporaries, he started out in the grime scene, spending years showcasing an array of East London-based MCs and producers on the famed pirate radio station Rinse FM. Even now, Reed's sound doesn't fully lie within the dubstep spectrum, often crossing over into grime and hip-hop-based productions throughout his DJ sets. Sydney audiences have caught the Brit at a good time, as the next few months will see him play sets in fabric's Room Two and the annual Snowbombing festival in Austria. Reed will be touching down in Sydney on Friday January 28th. New Zealand-based act Truth, and Sydney locals Swindle, Paul Fraser and Victim will also be getting behind Club 77's MK2s, so expect the usual bass-heavy sounds Void serves up.
