  • Boulder, Colorado will once again host Communikey Festival, the electronic music and arts showcase that takes over the city for five days in April. As a progressive non-profit organization dedicated to the arts, Communikey's history of selecting innovative artists from across the spectrum of electronic music continues this year with appearances from Atom TM and Monolake. Uwe Schmidt may be known under dozens of aliases, but it's his glitchy abstractions as Atom TM that will be on display for the fest. Another German-born artist, Monolake (AKA Robert Henke), is known for his role in developing the popular music production software Ableton, as well as his academic yet improvised approach to techno that tends towards the deep and dubby. As usual, the festival will take place in multiple venues and spaces across Boulder, with workshops and other art shows supplementing the dance events. Also featured on the lineup is veteran Detroit DJ Mike Huckaby, Levon Vincent, Chancha Via Circuito, Mark McGuire of Emeralds, Pulshar and New York's Spinoza, the man behind NYC's Bunker parties who will be making his third appearance at the festival.
