Nicolas Jaar comes to Chicago

- After a canceled appearance last year, the young producer brings a live set to Smart Bar this Friday.
- Fresh from the release of his first full-length album, NYC-based artist Nicolas Jaar will make his Chicago debut this weekend. Barely into his 20's, Jaar has made his presence felt around the world with a slowed-down sound that blurs the line between dancefloor house and atmospheric downtempo. Since 2008, he has appeared regularly on his hometown's Wolf + Lamb imprint as well as Circus Company, the Paris-based label that recently released Space is Only Noise, Jaar's debut album. Jaar was scheduled to play an event in Chicago last year, but was forced to cancel at the last moment. This time around, Smart Bar will host the festivities; club residents Orchard Lounge will handle the decks before and after Jaar's live set.
