  • Mr Scruff and Floating Points will play at renowned London club Plastic People on Saturday 24th June. Since launching Eglo with Rinse's Alex Nut in 2008, the label has grown out of a close network of artists rather than an identifiable sound, as RA found out last year. And its an approach that appears to have filtered down to its monthly club night at Plastic People. Guests so far have included New York party collective Mr Saturday Night, Detroit's Kyle Hall, electronic folk singer Caribou, and electronic composer Matthew Herbert. For the next party, Sam Shepherd (Floating Points) will be playing back-to-back with Ninja Tune stalwart Mr Scruff. Known for his jazz-imbued productions, Scruff's marathon live sets journey from soul and funk through dance and beyond—often unpredictable but always well crafted.
