  • An exhibition charting Rinse FM's rise to prominence will kick off on August 12th, 2011. The London based radio station and label will host the ten day exhibition, "Rinse Presents: A Visual Retrospective – The Work Of Shaun Bloodworth & Give Up Art," in Shoreditch's Truman Brewery Gallery. It will document Rinse's history through images of significant releases and events and showcase the work of two of Rinse's regular collaborators over their 17 years of broadcasting—design from London based studio Give up Art, founded by Stuart and Emma Hammersley, and the photography of Shaun Bloodworth. The former pirate radio station, which was licensed in June last year, has played an important role in the grime and dubstep scenes and acts as a significant platform for the capital's underground music community. It has also developed youth projects both in the UK and the USA. Both Give up Art and Shaun Bloodworth have cemented Rinse's visual identity. Give Up Art have a long term working relationship with the dubstep and garage label Tempa, including their long-standing Plastic People night FWD>> that Rinse also support (the 10th anniversary falls on the penultimate night of the exhibition). The Hammersley's collaboration with Bloodworth came to fruition in conjunction with one of the early Dubstep Allstars compilations on Tempa. Give Up Art and Bloodworth have since worked together with Rinse FM on a number of covers for the likes of Skream, Benga and the stations' mix series. The exhibition will run until August 21st, 2011.
