- The techno veteran has another science fiction-themed album out.
Jeff Mills has just released his latest album, 2087, inspired by Franklin Adreon's 1966 film Cyborg: 2087.
Like much of Mills' recent work, 2087 has a conceptual bent. It follows the story of Garth—half man/half robot, sent back through time to halt the invention of the mind controlling technology that has strangled his 2087 present. The music, per usual, is techno in both form and function. 2087 is currently available through Mills' own Axis Records, with a wider release planned for August.
