- Subtext will release the former Vex'd artist's debut solo release.
Aftertime is the first album from Roly Porter without his Vex'd production partner Jamie Teasdale.
Teasdale and Porter formed Vex'd in 2004, using the Bristol imprint Subtext to launch their dark, industrial-tinged dubstep sound with two EPs—Lion and Pop Pop—before signing to Planet Mu. Porter returns to Subtext to begin his solo career with his debut LP Aftertime. Like labelmates Emptyset, the album is said to fuse experimental composition with digital manipulation, while taking in elements of bass, drone and contemporary classical sounds.
