- Exit Records will release the drum & bass artist's next album in December.
Consequence will release his second solo album, Test Dream, on Exit Records in December.
Real name Cameron McLaren, Consequence has been one of drum & bass's most respected new artists since the release of his last album, Live for Never. RA's Max Bacharach called that one "2009's best drum & bass full-length," which by "drawing together influences as diverse as Ed Rush, OMD and Autechre... positively commands attention." In the meantime he's continued to push the genre's envelope as part of the duo They Live, who released the genre-bending Cancel Standard earlier this year. Like those two releases, Test Dream is stylistically open-ended but rooted in drum & bass, maintaining the genre's mood and intensity through mostly low tempo and ambient compositions.
Test Dream will be available digitally and on CD, with a shorter (seven-track) version on double-vinyl. The tracks "Oden" and "Untitled Dream" will be released as a 12-inch and MP3 sampler.
