Red Bull Music Academy hits Madrid this month, bringing with it several weeks of performances, panels, seminars and workshops.
The series began on Monday night with Global Communication, who performed their classic album 76:14 at Teatro Infanta Isabel. From tonight through November 4th, venues around the city will host a diverse array of events, including a lecture and club party with Peanut Butter Wolf, a Raster-Noton 15th anniversary showcase with Alva Noto and Byetone, a public workshop and concert with Mark Pritchard and Cristian Vogel, and a tropical-themed Halloween party with Senor Coconut (AKA Uwe Schmidt), Tom Ze, Mathew Jonson and Gerd Janson.
Term 2 begins on November 11th and lasts through the end of the month. That part of the event features performances from Pearson Sound, Modeselektor, Scuba and academy graduates Tiger & Woods among others, plus workshops with Oneohtrix Point Never, RZA and edit master Greg Wilson.
