- The Raster-Noton co-founder has a new LP due out this month.
Byetone will release his third solo album, Symeta, next week on Raster-Noton.
Olaf Bender's personal style has always been very much in line with Raster-Noton's overarching sound, which is unsurprising given he's one of the German label's co-founders next to Alva Noto and Frank Bretschneider. Much like his past releases, Symeta is techno with a noisy, experimental edge, though this time a hint of electro and post-punk replaces the glitch. According to a press release, Bender first conceived of its seven tracks while playing live over the past two years. The album features a vocal appearance from Jan Kummer, a former member of AG.Geige, a band Bender and Bretschneider formed together in East Berlin before the Wall came down.
