Andy Stott, Washed Out, Rustie, Martyn and oOoOO are on board for the Dutch festival this weekend.
The first ever Rewire Festival will take place this weekend at venues around The Hague.
Much like TodaysArt, one of the Hague's other annual festivals, Rewire combines modern music with other forms of contemporary art—installations, abstract cinema, audiovisual performances and so on—while taking over a range of unconventional venues, from an old power plant to a former office building, most of which are located in the Regentessekwartier district, just outside the city center.
The music program blurs the line between indie and electronic with a notably diverse cast of artists: atmospheric techno from Andy Stott, warped bass music from Rustie, witch house from oOoOO and Holy Other, chillwave from Washed Out and Tropics. Hyperdub trio Hype Williams bring their ghostly R&B to the program. Trouw resident Patrice Baumel will drop in for a set as well.
