The German minimal-pop duo will head up a Stil vor Talent label night at the Sydney club in late January.
Niklas Worgt and his wife Eva Padberg, who until now have released a vast majority of their work as Dapayk & Padberg on Worgt's own label Mo's Ferry Prod., are prepping their third album together for release on Oliver Koletzki's prolific Stil vor Talent imprint next month. Whilst Dapayk has been producing minimal techno under a range of different monikers since the mid-'09s, the husband-and-wife duo incorporates a pop element with Padberg on vocal duties. Their appearance at The Spice Cellar will be a live performance.
German producer Nicone has also had a handful of releases on Koletzki's label, including a collaborative album called Romantic Thrills with Sascha Braemer, which was released in October of last year. As with Dapayk & Padberg's music, the LP infuses pop music into the tech house sound Nicone and Braemer are typically known for.
Local DJ and promoter Murat Kilic, who has also released two EPs on the German label, caps off the bill along with Spice regular Matt Weir. Doors open at 10:00 PM.
