  • According to Juno Plus, Ostgut Ton has announced plans to start a new remix sub-label called Unterton. Managed by DJ and producer Nick Höppner, Ostgut Ton is best known as the label arm of Berlin's Berghain / Panorama Bar. It provides a steady platform for productions by the club's illustrious cast of resident DJs, but even without this sterling association it's one of today's most robust house and techno labels, with consistently well-received albums and EPs by artists like Tobias Freund and Planetary Assault Systems as well as club staples like Marcel Dettmann, Steffi, and Ben Klock. Unterton will be an outlet for remixes of past releases on Ostgut Ton, as well as "one-off projects" from "related or befriended artists." The first EP will feature two reworks of songs from Leaning Over Backwards, Tobias Freund's 2011 full-length (under the name Tobias.). Efdemin has a go at the album's title track, while increasingly joined-at-the-hip producers Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer reinterpret "Girts." All of Unterton's records will be released digitally and on rubber-stamped white label 12-inches. Tracklist A Leaning Over Backwards (Efdemin Remix) B Girts (Ricardo Villalobos & Max Loderbauer Remix) Unterton will release Remixes on April 2, 2012.
