The techno outsider's first LP will come out on Civil Music in June.
Real name Kamau Baaqi, Darling Farah is a young techno artist who's just now coming into the spotlight. As Ryan Keeling documented in his Breaking Through feature on him earlier this year, Baaqi grew up in Detroit but learned about techno on the internet while living in the United Arab Emirates. He played his first gigs at house parties in Dubai, then homed in on his trademark sound—now an atmospheric and syncopated style of techno— while studying sound design in London, where he currently lives. His first EP came out in 2010 on the London label Civil Music. Body comes two years after his first EP and features all previously unreleased tracks.
