  • Lewie Day, AKA Tornado Wallace is booked to play Mad Racket's next party this month. Day's profile has quickly and consistently risen in the two years since he began releasing music under his Tornado Wallace moniker. Spearheading a growing deep house movement in his home town, as detailed in Deeper Shades of Melbourne, the 25-year-old producer is recognised for his warm, melodic approach to house music, which is in a similar vein to producers like The Revenge and Mark E. Three of his five 12-inches to date have been released on UK label Delusions of Grandeur, with the other two landing on Instruments of Rapture and Sleazy Beats. Despite living in a neighbouring state, Day's DJ visits to Sydney are relatively infrequent, having only been up twice since 2010. Local institution Mad Racket will be hosting the evening on April 28th at their usual venue, the Marrickville Recreation Centre, with residents Simon Caldwell, Ken Cloud, Jimmi James and Zootie providing support. Doors open at 10:00 PM and tickets can be picked up here on RA.
