- The Londoner commits his hardware-heavy live set to CD on his first album, out in November on Cubism.
Cubism will release the first album from Saytek, Live on Cubism, this November.
The London-based house and techno producer born Joseph Keevil joined Cubism in 2010 and now runs it with co-founder Mark Gwinnett. He's made a name for himself with his live set, which finds him expanding a standard laptop setup with hardware drum machines, effects modules, and a customized Ableton controller. As its title suggests, Live on Cubism is a document of the sort of heavily improvised set he typically takes out on tour. As the press release describes it, Saytek used "some key loops and samples" as a starting point, but the rest of the record was put together "on the fly."
