- The Rinse FM veteran will helm the series' next edition in January.
Dubstep Allstars Vol. 10 mixed by Plastician will come out on January 28th.
Tempa's influential mix series has been going since 2004 and has seen some of the genre's most important names sit at the controls, including the likes of Hatcha, Distance and Kode9. The tenth edition will come from Plastician, a London DJ and producer who released some of dubstep's earliest tracks on a Rephlex compilation called Grime back in 2004 when he was still called Plasticman. Since then he's become one of the genre's most prominent DJs, touring regularly but with a rather sparse release schedule.
Aside from his annual self-released Sound That Speaks Volumes mixes, Dubstep Allstars Vol. 10 will be Plastician's first commercial mix since his 2008 Rinse CD. The compilation is a largely "traditional" affair, with the artist explaining that "dubstep means so many different things now... it’s as close to a pure dubstep mix as I could be, without doing an old-school mix." Dubstep Allstars Vol. 10 features some of contemporary dubstep's bigger players, such as Commodo and J:Kenzo, as well as lesser-known names like Korea, Stinkahbell and Nomine.
