Terre Thaemlitz and Skream are among others in the Berlin festival's second wave of announcements.
The 14th "Festival for Adventurous Music and Arts" will take over various venues across Berlin for the week, including Berghain, Stattbad Wedding and HAU Theatre. Focusing mostly on experimental electronic music, the initial lineup announcement featured names like Mark Fell, Alva Noto and Matmos. The theme for this year is "The Golden Age," centring around the "(over-)abundance of music in the modern world, and its consequences for individuals, aesthetics, politics, and economy."
New additions to the lineup include Uwe Schmidt's AtomTM presents Alpha TXT project featuring Material Object, Hamburg techno artist Pantha Du Prince (performing live with The Bell Laboratory), mysterious trap producer Uz and Terre Thaemlitz (AKA DJ Sprinkles). There's also a healthy portion of UK artists, such as Simian Mobile Disco, Skream (with MC Sgt Pokes), Hype Williams member Dean Blunt's Narcissist project, Demdike Stare and Forest Swords. Other highlights include Holly Herndon, D'eon, A Guy Called Gerald and Sal Mineo, a collaboration by Xiu Xiu and Oxbow's Eugene Robinson.
