The first album by The Asphodells, AKA Andrew Weatherall and Timothy J Fairplay, will see worldwide release in February.
Based on what we've heard from them so far, The Asphodells push a slow and psychedelic style of disco. Weatherall first debuted the project on this year's Masterpiece mix, which included two of the duo's tracks, including "A Love from Outer Space," whose sequel is included on the upcoming LP. Entitled Ruled by Passion Destroyed by Lust, the group's debut album will see release on Weatherall's label Rotters Golf Club. Though it came out in November in Japan, the release in February will be the first time it's available around the rest of the world.
