Smallville Records will play a pair of label showcases in the UK this February.
Julius Steinhoff and Peter Kersten (AKA Lawrence) started the Smallville record shop and label in Hamburg in 2005. The sound they've pushed—forceful but never overbearingly heavy deep house—has been unmissable in underground dance music since, with records by the likes of STL, Christopher Rau and Steinhoff's Smallpeople group with Dionne carrying the torch. On Friday, February 22nd, Steinhoff will represent Smallville in London at the recently opened club Dance Tunnel for the latest edition of Nick P Warren's Wax'd party. The next night, Steinhoff will join Dionne for a Smallpeople set at the Northern Purpose party in Leeds. UK-based Smallville affiliate Juniper and Northern Purpose residents Brendan Clark and Carl H are also on the bill.
Tickets for both the London and Leeds parties are available on RA.
